so-soI was really excited to read this, but once I finished, I wasn't satisfied. Being an Empath myself, I was interested to see how well the premise would be of an Empath being written as a fictional character involved with (my favorite) vampires. Though Savage was sure to make Claire introverted, it was difficult to relate to her (I'm 26 and have plenty reason why I'm an introvert). Clarie's reasoning didn't sell it for me.
panI gotta say, Twilight felt like it had better action than this entire book. I haven't even finished, though I'm close enough to know it's unfortunately true. I felt like Meyer tried not to force an insta-love between the main characters so much, that Jared practically rapes Melony! Like, the sight of the first girl he saw, caused his testosterone to rise and forget sense! Forcing himself on her WASN'T romantic or even slightly attractive....
