Great story in a fantasyland with the Bones being unique creatures comparable to Tolkien's Hobbits. It's full of humor but at its base an epic that has a well thought out mythology involving dragons. It often impressed upon me a sense of hopelessness(perhaps not what you'd expect from the Looney Tune-esque "Bones" displayed on the cover), but the darker moments were balanced with likable characters and humor.

This book is split into two narratives. The narrative associated with The End of the World is set in an oddly, cozy town despite the town's repressive nature. The dry humor of Hard-Boiled Wonderland combined with its creative concepts adds to a plot that moves forward at a pace that keeps its many mysteries in check.

A true adventure detailing the trials and tribulations of world travelers going woefully ill-prepared into the Amazon rainforest. A fast and exciting read that left me with a fearful respect for the nearly uninhabitable jungle.
