Really digging Coates's Black Panther run so far. Tho not sure why they changed artists after #4, I assume it had to do with falling behind. Alas, enjoyable first 6 issues.

Are Prisons Obsolete? | Angela Y. Davis
Pickpick

If we've moved passed other racist institutions such as slavery, the jim crow laws/segregation why not the prison industrial complex too? Why not move past a system that exploits race, class, gender, that supports retribution/vengeance, but to one that supports reparation/reconciliation? Terrific.

Mehso-so

Of the 10 short unrelated stories, most are tightly written and succinct, few overstay their welcome. Homes paints fully realized characters in each, and she's unafraid to examine darker corners of humanity or moral grey areas, and at the same time has some fun. Enjoyable, tho not wholly satisfying.

Finally finished reading my last ebook, so time for a new book! Never read any of her work but my friend recommended it.
