This just got thrust into my reading list. When your boss‘s boss takes a moment to give you a book that they were inspired by, it‘s pretty special!

Just discovered this author today at London Wordsfest. Reminded me of how much I love reading out loud. Amazingly entertaining, funny, and plays a mean sax as well. His reading sold me on the book for sure!

Had the pleasure of hearing Ron Sexsmith talk about his new book Deer Life today at London Wordsfest. He also played a couple tunes as well! Looking forward to cracking this one.

Filled with aboriginal archetypes and other symbols of our country, this short but powerful story helped bring the true story of Chanie Wenjak and aspects of the social impact of residential schools back into the forefront of Canadian culture. I found it heart-wrenching and touching.
