A little dry in some places and doesn't flow as well as it could but still a really interesting part of history about Tudor spy craft. Definitely give it a go.

Perhaps not cursed but definately dangerous at some point in time. A lovely book to flick through and has beautiful maps of where you can find these places. A good travel guide for the morbid wanderer.

Barefoot I was in two minds about this book. On the one hand, it's gorgeous. On the other hand, I thought the writing was flawed. It needed to be more easily accessible to people who didn't know the places. 8y

A deliciously creepy and dark graphic novel. The illustrations are breathtaking and the short stories are amazing with just the right amount of tension and atmosphere.

Stunning photographs with well researched and accessible history of the cult of saints. The doctor of morbid things, Paul Koudounaris brings the dead back to life. Koudanaris' work should be on everyone's bookshelf.

A compendium of the most badass and scandalous aristocratic ladies through the centuries. One of the best reads this year. Incredible real stories that need to be read.

This is such a wonderful book. Evans manages to balance informative journalism with poetic nature writing. We get glimpses of Britain's beauty at the extremities of its border.

A scoundrel a coward and a womaniser. Flashy is back, dodging danger and saving his own neck from a deadly femme fatale and the scheming Otto Von Bismarck. This series is a must read. Everyone needs Flashman in their lives.

Lots of princes and marriage, lots of women and girls who cry and wait for a nice coincidence or to be saved and don't really do much to help their situation. What's disturbing is that old and ugly = bad/evil and young and beautiful = good/virtuous
