Took my daughter on our first excursion outside the house... To the local library! She was so good, only a tiny bit of fussing before she fell asleep leaving me to peruse all the lovely lovely books and pick out my next late night feeding read!

My husband keeps listening to a narrative account of Enron. Are there any fiction books that have a similar crime drama/mystery feel he might like? I desperately need him to read or listen to something else.

The Diamond Throne | David Eddings

Four years ago today "defenestration" was an answer at trivia. Thank you David Eddings for your bizzare obsession with this word, and thank you @inwhichHeikereadsharder for introducing me to him. ❤

heikemarie It also made the defenestration of Prague seem way more important to me than it actually was 😬 I love that this was a thing!! 6y

I really appreciate the role that infertility and miscarriage played in the second series. The main character's parents experience secondary infertility, including a stillbirth. It doesn't turn out to be a plot point, it's not some great motivator or character flaw or anytying, it's a detail of the family that could have been edited out. I just really appreciate it being just as normal as the fact the parents had children at all.

Left my Kindle at the community center last week, thankfully someone turned it in!

shendrix413 Yay for a good honest person who turned it in! I'd be so very sad if my Kindle disappeared 6y
heikemarie I left mine on the train from NYC once (with my wallet but I was honestly more upset about the Kindle) and someone mailed it and my wallet to me! People are sometimes great. 6y
Betty Welcome to Litsy. So glad you got your kindle back!! 6y
