Somewhat interesting from a historical perspective about how these Uber rich squandered all their wealth. I was disappointed that we didn‘t learn more about Gloria Vanderbilt as she doesn‘t show up until the last third of the book.

A very dark tale of Peter Pan, not for children. I got this for the cover and all the artwork within. Being a lifelong fan of Peter Pan, this is excellent. If you are a fan of the pan, Wiccan, paganism, Celtic lore, Sidhe, Fearie, this rolls it all up into one nice package. The beginning and ending are good, however the author loses his way a bit in the middle. Uneven writing, but overall satisfying.

It kept me going to the last page, of course dying to know what the hell was going on. Sadly, the ending wasn‘t really that satisfying and highly improbable. This definitely took away much of the pow factor these who done it‘s usually have. Eeverything leading up to the reveal, was pretty edge of your seat thriller.

I can‘t really talk about the story or the characters much lest I give away the plot. I can say it reads like a stream of conscience and thats definitely not for everyone. The way this story unfolds is disturbing, unbalancing the reading and unsettling. It‘s very dark and there are some trigger warnings such as child abuse. Hats of to the author!

Side note: Do be sure to read the authors afterword in the end.

Not being a super fan of short stories, with exception to Stephen King‘s. His son follows in his fathers footsteps with this wonderful horror anthology. Twelve unique tales honoring some of our greatest authors. Mail being my least favorite and In the tall, tall Grass, classic King, being my favorite.

A very readable story following a mother on the run after freeing her child with Down syndrome from a horrible school for the disabled. Although this lagged a bit in the middle and seemed like it meandered, it came back full force towards the end.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. A heartbreaking telling in the world of Norse Mythology of Loki, Angrboda, the mother of monsters and the fall of Asgard with the coming of Ragnorak. Such a sad story of love and loss. Wonderfully written. However it felt a bit too much like Circe with that one being slightly better.

For the 19th installment of the Charlie Parker series, it was nice to have a completely different type of book focusing on fan favorites, Louis and Angel. This was their story with only a guest appearance from Charlie Parker.

A brutal revenge tale as only Louis and Angel and can do!

⭐️ If only I could give this less than one star! Not an enjoyable read at all! Not believable, whiny characters, didn‘t make anything but uncomfortable and oh yes, no way is this YA. With regards to a story about tragic incest, I‘d go back to Flowers in the Attic any day. Now that‘s a tragic more realistic story.

I only read this as a Book Challenge for my book club. I never ever read romance novels. After many eye rolls at the beginning of the book, I later found myself actually falling in and rather enjoying it. I rather liked my characters in this book and I‘m pretty sure that is why I enjoyed it.

That being said, I still don‘t think this is a genre for me and most likely won‘t continue reading romance novels.

Wow! What a crushing, emotionally captivating and bloody good trilogy! The dark writing as good a weaving of words as marielle was at weaving skin. I haven‘t read anything this memorable in the fantasy world this good since Game of Thrones. From the utterly unique magic systems, the detailed world building and the OMG depth of the characters. Tric💔! The heartbreak is real and it breaks many times.

Aside from the bad, clunky writing, and the horrible narrator, it was a very informative book about how horrific these girls were treated and dismissed by “the company”. This isn‘t the first bad treatment of profit over people and it sadly will not be the last.

I loved the world building and all the characters. Mia is a well fleshed out awesome female lead. We have Hogwarts style school only for assassins not wizards lol! It‘s dark, it‘s brutal, it‘s bloody, it‘s vengeful and it‘s lusty!!! Huzzah! The magic systems however are bit wonky to understand just yet, but hoping that will become more defined as I go.

I can‘t believe this is it!!!! I just completed Act 2 of the brilliant and amazing
Sandman! I‘m still ruined by these audio books for others. Definitely one of the best narrations Ive ever head. Neil Gaiman and James McEvoy should narrate everything. The entire cast is just perfect and I only wish they would have used all the same actors int he upcoming series and they did in the audio. The musical score and effects, spot on!

I have now completed all this author‘s work thus far. He has 3 books and I actually read them backwards, not that there is an order really but I read his recent to his first, this being the first.

In just 3 books, this author has grown so much! My Darkest Prayer is an excellent first book, it‘s a bit raw and crude in places, and you can where he has grown, refined and smoothed out all the rough edges.

I can‘t wait for more!

This is a difficult book to categorize. It‘s definitely unsettling, creepy and sad. I found myself confused by portions due to the non-linear timeline.

What unfolds is an unnaturally way of storytelling, so it leaves you with a feeling of discomfort. The thing is, i read this book in like 2 days because i needed to keep going back to unravel this mystery. I felt so compelled.

It‘s an interesting way of telling a mystery.

I never thought I‘d run across another perfect book in the same year. So many thrillers out there that are very entertaining, but few are so well written, you have to stop and let the words sink in and just feel them. This was such an emotionally deep and often as violent as it was profound. I haven‘t read an author who could spin words this well since R.J. Ellory‘s A Quiet Belief in Angels. This book is perfect, just read it!

Whoa! What a change of pace of Preston and Child‘s Pendergast Series! Book 20 has really changed course with the way they tell stories. Mostly good, solid, Sherlockian type scenarios for which that last couple were only just becoming tiresome. This one, however turns more into a sci fi thriller and I loved it!

Looking forward to part 2 of this trilogy.

Excellent peek inside the world of the working poor surviving on minimum wage and slave labor. Having been in this industry for about 5 years in the early 80s, she was spot on in what she experienced.
‘Cons: The author interjected herself too much into the narrative and I found her self importance, and arrogance very distracting.

A homage to Stephen King old style horror, which is nice to see although it fell a bit short for me. It was badly in need of an editor as there were some repeats going on here. It was not at all what i was expecting, although the twist into a multiverse was very cool. My grumbles was the dialogue of the characters didn‘t feel real to me and it was a messy ending. I would have liked a lot more explanation about what was all that going on lol!
