A Separation: A Novel | Katie Kitamura

Pickpick

Such a killer cover!! This novel is worthy of all the buzz. Narrated in a quiet, taut voice of the woman who is looking for her husband (from whom she is secretly separated) in order to ask him for a divorce. Unexpected twists in this story about relationships and external appearances.

This book reads like a series of connected short stories, but that's fine with me. Some stories were better than others, but overall I enjoyed the book. And she was great at the Nashville Book Festival!

Mehso-so

I didn't like this as much as I had expected to. I guess I was looking for more "aha" moments shedding light on the disaster of the election, even tho I know it was written before November. I thought it could have used some editing. Glad I read it but had to skim parts.
