While there may be nothing new under the sun, fantasy novels certainly seem to be called out frequently for being derivative of those that came before them.

Yes, Thee Eye of the World has some derivative elements. There is a “chosen one” and a quest trope, as well as other well-worn tropes sprinkled throughout.
If you hate those tropes, then this novel isn‘t for you.
However, if — like me — you actually like these tropes, consider picking it up.

Roseanna M. White is back with To Treasure an Heiress.
One of the things I love about this series is the way White weaves actual history into the background of her story.
Seeing as this is the second entry in the series, several background characters from book one are now main characters and there‘s smattering of new characters as well. I loved getting to know these characters more and have found new favorites in the world White has created.
