What else can you come up with?!?
My end of the year #Nonfiction2023! Not a complete card, but boy some great books in there!
And I can see I‘m way WAY behind on reviews 😂. New Years Resolution, go back to reviewing right after I finish or I won‘t get back to it. 🤣
#Nonfiction2024 is here! And it‘s a big challenge this year.
First, these are not the books you need to read…although if you haven‘t read them, I encourage you to read them.
These are banned books, and they are banned for subject matter they contain that we find objectionable for some reason.
Your challenge is to read a nonfiction book about a similar subject:

I wasn't going to do this since it's the end of the semester, but I need grading motivation, so my goal is to spend 20 hours over the next 4 days reading and grading student essays. I'll break it up with fun reading by trying to get to 60% in Snuff by Terry Prachett (at 38% now).

Hello #SheSaid! Here‘s our schedule for the rest of the year AND Nominations Are Open for the rest of next year!
Please add your nominations to the comments section!
I‘m sharing the prompts for #nonfictionnovember and what I might choose for these prompts.
1. I‘ll probably choose one of my Christian nonfiction books for this one because Christian nonfiction makes me feel uncomfortable.
2. I‘ll probably choose a True Crime book for this one.
3. I haven‘t decided yet. I‘ll have to see if I can find something for this.
4. I‘ll probably read a nonfiction book about something I‘m interested in.
I‘m so excited about Nonfiction November. I participated once a few years ago but didn‘t participate again for some reason. I don‘t remember the exact year I participated but I had so much fun. I like fiction but I also like nonfiction so this event is perfect for me. I know it‘s October but I‘m already starting to think about what I might want to read for this. I‘m going to try to find books to fit the 4 prompts.

I have literally been each of these at some point in my life! 🤓
The Sum of Us: What racism costs everyone….I‘m using for the prompt: Strange Fruit. It is definitely a sanitized version of what that phrase originally stood for, and someday I will read The Red Record, but I think The Sum of Us Does a great job encapsulating so many unexpected and strange outcomes from the seeds we have sowed.
