Mehso-so

One of these things is not like the other! Didn't notice the 'based on the character' on the Guinea Pig one until I already had it home from the library. 🤦🏼‍♂️
No Roses for Harry seems a little more pointless than the last two I read about Harry: style preference rather than perception check. Didn't like that the story didn't confront people laughing at someone for the clothing they wore or why male didn't like floral/feminine cloth? 🙄 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 There's definitely some 1958 publication date gender stuff. I'm hoping there's a more relevant children's book version out there that would emphasize a being's right to choose what to wear, whether or not they liked roses, no matter how they identify. 🌹Harry and the Guinea Pig feels too much like an amalgam of children's stories I've read before, the fuss over who gets attention mashed up with a contrived mystery/adventure. Lost the charm of the originals. 🤷🏼‍♂️ 7mo

The Perfect Nest | Catherine Friend, John Manders
Pickpick

The Perfect Nest is a Children's Literature story written by Catherine Friend and Illustrated by John Manders. This is a story about a cat named Jack who set up the perfect nest so the perfect chicken will come along to lay a perfect egg for Jack's perfect omelet. A perfect chicken did come along, and then shortly after a duck shows up, and then a goose. These animals are all fighting over this perfect nest and now Jack wants them out.

clairebourq_2023 He convinces all the animals to leave to go to the neighboring farm because they have an even better nest for them to lay eggs! Jack is left with the three eggs and his mouth is watering... soon after, CRACK! The eggs hatch, and now Jack cannot make these into his perfect omelet!? He tries to hide from them but realizes nobody else is there a=to take care of them. Despite their differences, Jack realizes he must take care of these babies. 2y

Just got this book from the library and read it to my baby. He really loved the pictures, so talkative. And I loved it; teaching new information about birds in a cute way and thus so easy to remember. #library #readtoyourkids

It's Harry's (Harry the Dirty Dog) birthday. Grandma has lovingly hand-knitted him a sweater. Although it is cosy and snug, it's covered in roses, so Harry decides it has to go - with hilarious consequences….
A child favorite! #sweater #gratefulharvest @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
