Mehso-so

Loved the concept, and the storyline was pretty good. Predictable, but okay. The ending though... what a let down after all of the build-up.

Busy day today, but I've got a cat on my lap*, a chai latte, and only 30 pages left in this book. Stuff can wait for 30 pages.

*of course by the time I typed that, she's off. There were some tricksy leaves blowing outside that needed a good staring at. She's got a busy day too.

Joining in on #weeklyforecast! @Cinfhen

I should finish Traitors and The Dutch House, about halfway through both now. And after setting it aside for a while, I've been reading Genji again. I'm about 75% now, so hoping for another 10% or so. If I finish all that, I'll start something new - but I doubt it since let's be real, there's also many hours of playing Pokémon shield in my forecast this week 😁

Crazeedi I totally enjoyed the dutch house! 3w
llwheeler @Crazeedi awesome ☺️ it's my first time reading Ann Patchett and I'm enjoying it so far too! 3w
Cinfhen What‘s Pokémon Shield???? #InquiringMindsWantToKnow 3w
llwheeler @Cinfhen Pokémon shield (Pokémon sword is the other version) is the new Pokémon game that just came out for Nintendo switch 3w
Cinfhen Hmmmm, haven‘t heard any of my kids or nephews talking about it. I‘ll have to ask them (edited) 3w

I can see about half my home library... Estimate 500?
2 books in reach
1 of which is green (I'm sure my shelves have more but I'm not gonna pull them all out)
No bookish clothing, book not currently open, no kindle, no cup, no other person.
1 library book in reach
Headquarters = 12
Comes to a guesstimate 528

Fun quiz, @ljuliel, thanks 🙂

ljuliel Great job, thanks for playing 😊📚 3w

Slow, lazy morning on my first day back after vacation. Went from plus 20 yesterday to negative temps and a winter wonderland today, but hot chocolate with whipped cream and a (so far) very good fantasy make that no problem.

Started this one the other night. Currently 80 pages into it, and liking it so far. Here‘s hoping it continues to resonate with me. 😁 #lostforwords

Pickpick

#GratefulReads - Preferred Genre: After children‘s literature, but before young adult literature. After Ramona, but before V.C. Andrews. After summer required reading, but possibly at the same time as Stephen King, a liking for science fiction and fantasy developed. There had already been The Hobbit and The Chronicles of Narnia and a magical transporting story about dragons. These books took reading to a whole other level. I had found a niche👇🏽

Nute that continues to grab at my attention with a full-strength gravitational pull to this very day. Oh, the tagged book: I read it a awhile back, and though the storyline escape me, I remember the feeling associated with reading it...that was fantastic! 1mo
Chrissyreadit This sounds like a good book but hard to find. 1mo

Nute @Chrissyreadit I was a much younger reader when I read it, and I have never reread it. I seldom reread books. That being said, I feel like I would still be amazed and happily satisfied with this story today. I really liked it and boy did it solidify my love for this genre.👍🏽 Oh yes, you are absolutely correct, it‘s hard to find - out of print and not available in digital or audio format. I wanted a second copy of it and couldn‘t find anything.🙁 1mo

Pickpick

Got another 2 hours in and finished this one! Somewhere between a pick and a so-so, it‘s filed with some of the “father of the paranormal” Hans Holzer‘s cases. They were pretty fascinating mostly, a couple boring ones, but his writing is superb! #teamstoker #24b4monday @TheReadingMermaid
