Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin and illustrated by Best Lewin, would make a great edition to Elementary Classrooms! This book is a Caldecott Award winner. This is a modern fantasy (F) picture book about cows that find a typewriter in their barn and begin to make demands from the farmer via typed messages. This book would make for a great RA, and can be used with this lesson plan:

GroeningsC https://www.cpalms.org/Public/PreviewResourceLesson/Preview/58153
UDL Principal: 8.3, by allowing students to work in pairs
ESOL: 2, allowing for collaboration in pairs

This looks like too much fun not to join!! Thanks @MaleficentBookDragon for doing this! ❤️
You send ONE BOOK and some chocolate to another Litten to be opened the eve of Dec 24th then spend the evening in bed reading your new book and eating chocolate. What could be better? 🤓

Click, Clack, Moo Cows that type by Doreen Cronin is a classic and funny F book. The cows in the barn have found an old typewriter and start leaving messages for the farmer. This Caldecott winner would be a good CR. The style of the book with the sound effects makes it a good option to get students reading together. This site shares a readers theatre version of the book #ucflae3414f19

cassandram http://www.thebestclass.org/uploads/5/6/2/4/56249715/cowsthattype.pdf which would be an interactive way to get students involved. I would use UDL 5.1 by having multimedia options of the story and ESOL strategy 14 by slowing down while reading. 6d

Giggle, Giggle, Quack | Doreen Cronin
post image

Giggle, Giggle, Quack by Doreen Cronin is a comical F picture book that can entice any young reader into following the storyline of a farm duck that can act in mischievous ways. Farmer Brown is going out of town on vacation, so his brother Bob is in charge..or so you‘d believe. To further engage the students in the storyline, a RT would be a innovative way to promote comprehension. #UCFLAE3414F19

TristanPool UDL 1.1 and EL 6 would be appropriate for Giggle, Giggle, Quack as students are exposed to a new way to view and comprehend the storyline through their RT. Below is a link to a discussion guide that can be used to actively engaged students in understanding the characters found throughout the book: http://www.scholastic.com/browse/collateral.jsp?id=32427 7d

I have always loved cows but I have never thought about them this much.
This woman is dedicated to all farm animals which in a way is amazing but very odd.

A small but diverse stack of prospective reads for #MrBook1inaMillion. I have to work tomorrow and will begin in earnest tomorrow night 😊. (By the way, please tag me in this #Readathon‘s posts, just be sure to also tag the other tagged Littens for the particular #LitsyPartyOfOne or #24B4Monday raffle—when I enthusiastically go through notifications, I may inadvertently miss a few posts 🙈, and the others will be a back-up for that. Thank you! 🤗)
