The chapter starts out with Professor Snape being a terrible example of a teacher. He belittles and insults both his students and his fellow Hogwarts faculty,Professor Lupin when he subs for his class. The entire Gryffindor team exemplifies what it means to work as a team. Snape was a terrible example of what an effective teacher is. He is extremely knowledgeable, but so extremely cruel.

I quite liked Oliver Wood's portrayal in the films. Here, in this chapter, he represents a determined leader trying to cover all all his bases, to account for all possibilities, but playing Hufflepuff instead of Slytherin throws him completely. The reactions of the team where they try to calm him and reassure him, shows what a great example he is.
