Weight of Glory (HarperCollins REV)
Weight of Glory (HarperCollins REV) | C S Lewis
9 posts | 20 read | 8 to read
The classic Weight of Glory by C.S. Lewis, the most important Christian writer of the 20th century, contains nine sermons delivered by Lewis during World War Two. The nine addresses in Weight of Glory offer guidance, inspiration, and a compassionate apologetic for the Christian faith during a time of great doubt.

My #Readathon stats are: 118 pages of X Marks the Spot (and I finished it), 119 pages of In the Woods, 12 pages of my textbook, and 5 pages of my Bible commentary to prepare for Sunday School. That‘s a total of 254 pages for the day. Not a lot by any means, but a good chunk. I probably only read for a total of 3 hours all told. The picture has nothing to do with the stats—I just took it last night and thought it was cute.

"It is tiring and unhealthy to lose your Saturday afternoons, but to have them free because you don't matter, that is much worse. -C. S. Lewis on Inner Rings (Cliques).

10/10. C. S. Lewis has something to say on every subject and is a master at explaining things seemingly unexplainable.

I start C.S. Lewis and different colored pens come out for underlining and notes. I do get a lot out of his writing. I do wish everyone would write like him. His vocabulary amazes me every time.

Thanks to @Liberty for her Fun Photo Friday idea. I recently went looking for an essay in this old CS Lewis book and found an inscription that I had forgotten about from my mother in law who passed away 3 years ago. It was a lovely surprise to remind me of her kindness and our shared love of reading
