2 posts | 1 reading | 1 to read
An intimate account of a college graduate's three years teaching English in Japan, this book follows a young man's experience diving headfirst into a new culture and way of life. From an elderly couple who take him on nerve-wracking expeditions to the junior high school students he must teach despite a complete lack of experience, this hilarious, intimate account unravels the cultural mysteries of modern Japan.

Back in Osaka for a visit and spotted this free library in the Monorail station at Senri-Chuo. A whole shelf in English! I wish I'd brought books I could add to it. There was a smaller one at the next station but no English. Sorry for the fuzzy photo. Also, the tagged book is a fun read about being an assistant language teacher in Osaka which I was in a former lifetime. #freelittlelibrary #trainstation #osaka #japan
