Bar owner Jimmy is retiring & planning on selling Lillies, a spot for hipsters and the well off in the now trendy, but once crime ridden Red Hook. Bartender Erin is hoping to buy the bar but Jimmy refuses to sell & tells Erin an unusual story. This is labeled as a short story but with the audio clocking in at 2 hours it's more of a novelette. This is a careful what you wish for story. Pick!

Mehso-so

Ugh. Perfect Halloween seasonal read—creepy and gross, well written. Definitely NOT my cup of tea. Erin is hoping to buy her boss out of the ancient bar she runs. He tries to convince her it isn‘t worth her time or money. He tells her of his story and how he became so powerful in their neck of the woods to try to convince her to turn away. If you love things like Stephen King, you‘ll probably love it;otherwise avoid.

'Eerie Basin' is a haunting tale of the lust for power. When one person wants to give up, there is always someone waiting in the wings. This time power is given to those who care for an ancient creature. The story is told through Erin and Jimmy. Jimmy has been a mainstay and has cared for the creature for years. He sees its true cost. Erin is just starting out and wants what Jimmy has. 4 stars.
