Pickpick

A unique experience, to feel like you've both been watching a plot progress over three volumes and also that you're simultaneously just riding along with slice of life scenes for the same period.
You've got the same themes and goals as the previous two volumes:
The industry of publishing manga, the editors and artists. 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/? The commentary on burnout, on the demands of creating manga on a regular schedule taking some promising talents out for the game, even if they remember the early days fondly.
Shiozawa seeking out artists willing to put together an independently produced manga project, artists he knew from earlier years as an editor,

Robotswithpersonality 3/? the goal to produce the kind of collection he once worked on that was cancelled by his former company, and the efforts to find artists who are interested in still creating manga, and bookstores who are willing to sell the project even though it's not connected to a big publisher. 1mo

Robotswithpersonality 5/? simultaneously being the biggest egotistical pain to all around him, before he renews his commitment to the art form, even as new success in the mainstream doesn't guarantee fulfillment or a cessation of doubts.
A background artist who determines his purpose in the art world would be more fulfilling as a curator at a gallery.

Robotswithpersonality 6/? You also have strong indications that Shiozawa can talk to birds, which is just the kind of surrealist garnish that works for this quiet, slow meditation on finding a balance in life and creating that which gives you joy. 1mo
Robotswithpersonality 7/7 Will continue to pick up works by Taiyo Matsumoto. I like the way he writes and draws. 1mo
