It was interesting enough but the characters were kind of “yuck.”

Well this was entertaining and comically twisted. Even though a pile of characters come in and out of the story, they really weren‘t too distracting (just funny) allowing the reader to know that Florence could be headed in all sorts of haphazard directions as she tries to save her 10-year-old son from suspicion in the disappearance of his classmate.

Fantastic! Started on audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator, then finished in print. The MC is deeply flawed but she knows it, and that makes her story all the more fun. The thriller part was also so well done and had my heart RACING in the last chapters. Highly recommend!!

Great fun. Think ‘Motherhood‘ meets ‘Am I being unreasonable?‘ with a solid whodunit at its core. 👍

I hate to say that I'm with the other mothers on this one. Florence was unbearable to read. Her quips were funny in the beginning but died quickly into annoyance. She took the selfish turn every chance she got, and all though she loved her son, I hated how she talked about him, always putting him down for just being himself. It was gross. The ending was super mediocre. My favorite character was the turtle 🐢 1/5

CarolynM The turtle was pretty cool😆 2mo

Former not quite pop star & single mother Florence throws herself into the investigation when one of her son‘s classmates goes missing. I confess I was mostly drawn to it because of the title (school gate trauma much?) & didn‘t have any real expectations, which was probably a good thing. The story rockets along at a furious pace & it‘s quite a fun read, although Florence is such a mess she is more annoying than amusing. Another low pick.

dabbe When I first quickly read the title, I thought it said All the Others MATE me. 🤣🤣🤣 2mo
squirrelbrain I have the ARC of this but it‘s only got okay-ish reviews (including yours!) so I‘m inclined to skip it for now as I‘ve got so many other better-sounding ARCs to read. 2mo
CarolynM @dabbe I think that would have been a very different book 😳😆 2mo

It took me a full half of the story before I realized I had to suspend my disbelief about every single thing. It was only then that I was able to enjoy it. It isn‘t really a thriller and (sadly) there isn‘t very much of the mom-group drama like I had hoped. It IS a mystery though, and there is a lot of sarcasm and comedy throughout. Florence is a mess, and her relationships are too. Except with her son Dylan-she will do *anything* to protect him.
