I really liked this book. I thought it had a really good balance of mundane life, magic, adventure, romance, world building, and an intriguing storyline. I liked where the book went and was satisfied with the ending. I did think that the book started off slow and then would speed up and slow back down multiple times. I also wish there was a little more information on the scriptomancy, how exactly it worked, etc... 4/5

Once things really got going I was hooked and on the edge of my seat. The characters are interesting and relatable; I really admired Maeve‘s desire to clear her father‘s name and her willingness to do what she has to in order to accomplish that, as well as her overall desire to do what is right. I also liked Maeve‘s mentor, Tristan. He has a sassy, rebel element to him that I found refreshing and I liked the dynamic between him and Maeve.

I really enjoyed this romantic fantasy because it had all that I look for in a good book...well-developed and interesting characters, great world-building, and an intriguing plot to tie it all together. First, and foremost in this instance I think, I loved the unique and detailed world of basically a fictional USPS (the Otherwhere Post) which is based on the art of scriptomancy (the art of magically enchanting mail). This was a location setting🔻

This was an original and intriguing Middle School Style Dark Academia / Romantasy read. I was a bit surprised by how slow the beginning of the book was, but with all the world building and the establishment of a very unique magical system with Scriptomancy that is needed, this pace is understandable. In this vivid and detailed book, Taylor needs to establish quite a lot of context and backstory for the reader to understand Maeve's world
