5 stars! I loved this book; it was my kind of thriller! A smart & capable female main character. A captivating plot. A whodunit but not in a locked room way. Good supporting characters & a rare, fascinating condition that the killer has. This was my 1st Helen Fields book & I want to read more! I hope she writes another book featuring Midnight Jones! I highly recommend this book!

This is a stand alone (at least for now) thriller that, while brutally violent and somewhat graphic, was also very entertaining. It features some strong and clever women and a less than honorable corporation. There is also a very brief appearance by Connie Woolwine, who was a profiler in two previous books. I really enjoyed the characters and given the ending look forward to seeing more about Midnight and Doris in future books. 4.25/5 stars!

Further to my last post, this is another author at the Crime Festival and, from the blurb, I really wasn‘t sure.

Whew-ee though, this was a page-turner (or whatever the equivalent is on audio!). It‘s very gruesome, with a lot of VAW, which is difficult when you can‘t skim-read on audio, so be warned.

I just couldn‘t stop listening, and I‘m really looking forward to seeing the author now, on a panel called ‘From PI to AI‘
