Not the kind of book I'd usually pick, only read it for a book club I was hoping to join. But I'm glad I did because I ended up enjoying it. Quick paced YA read dealing with race and romance in the Jim Crow days. This one had lots of suspenseful moments as well as sad and heartbreaking, especially considering the concept of "passing" was a reality so many people had to deal with, and I'm sure some still do ?
