Usually, I love Dürrentmatt's humor and his social criticism. But this story didn't work for me. At all. Call me woke, but I hated the way this story deals with rape and the gaslighting. It might have worked when the story was written and I first tried to read it in historical context. Call me woke, but this book was just too much.
