Kyle Blake likes plans. So far, they're pretty simple: Finish her senior year of high school, head off to a good college, find a cute boyfriend, graduate, get a good job, get married, the whole heterosexual shebang. Nothing is going to stand in the way of that plan. Not even Stella Lewis. Stella Lewis also has a plan: Finish her senior year as cheer captain, go to college, finally let herself flirt with (and maybe even date) a girl for the first time and go from there. Fate has other plans for Kyle and Stella when they're paired up in their AP English class and something between them ignites. It's confusing and overwhelming and neither of them know what to do about it. One thing they do know is that their connection can't be ignored. The timing just isn't right. But is there ever a good time for falling in love?

Pickpick

Adorable. A very fluffy f/f high school romance with zero angst or coming out drama. The writing was pretty simplistic - but it was written for a YA audience so I'm trying to be less critical than I normally would be. It was sometimes too hip/pop culture aware for my tastes - there were references to Halsey, Faking It, Natalie Dormer, and too many "hot as fuck" and "baby" by the MCs. I made it a pick b/c it was adorable and made me smile a lot.

Yamich49 Oh yeah book four complete for #bookisholympics! And #diversebooks #queerbooks #lgbtbooks and so on... 8y
CaitlinSiem I'll say, I'm shocked to see that there are Halsey mentions in the book since she's so new to the scene. Not that I'm complaining at all because I'm a huge Halsey fan (I saw her in concert a few weeks ago haha). 8y
Coleen Great acknowledgement section. 😊 8y

Yamich49 @CaitlinSiem Right? I LOVE Halsey and am so jealous you got to see her in concert! I think this book was either in June or July so it's pretty new. It was a little excessive with all the pop culture references tho - it's going to become dated fast! 8y
Yamich49 @Coleen Isn't it? It made me a little more generous in my review - how can anyone resist that? 8y
CaitlinSiem Hooray, another Halsey fan!!!! She kills it live. That's how she got her start and so I knew she'd be awesome but she blew me away. And I suppose that means I better read this book sooner rather than later haha. 8y
Yamich49 @CaitlinSiem I bet she's fantastic live - the videos I've seen of her live performances are amazing! 8y

Starting book four of #bookisholympics - I wanted a happy read and I think this one will be perfect. Just look at the dedication ❤️

BookishFeminist Book 4! My goodness. This does look good tho! 8y
Yamich49 @BookishFeminist Yeah it is a bit excessive for me - although the HP one I read late last night so it's technically only been two full books read today. 🤓I've been having anxiety about some work changes so I've been doing whatever I can to escape. Its been books and binge watching Call the Midwife all day today, the perfect escape! And this book is fun so far, very adorable. 8y
BookishFeminist @Yamich49 Oh no! Boo to the work anxiety. I know how that goes & hope things work out. ❤️ You know how to track me down if you wanna talk. At least you've made the most of today! Gonna do some of that excellent escapist technique tomorrow with Hannibal. 🤓 I had a bad anxiety day as well & mostly I just brought my book everywhere but mostly as a prop since I barely read it. 😂 8y
