Notes of Change
Notes of Change: Sam Plank Mystery | Susan Grossey
2 posts | 1 read
In the autumn of 1829, the body of a wealthy young man is found dumped in a dust-pit behind one of London's most exciting new venues. Constable Sam Plank's enquiries lead him from horse auctions to houses of correction, and from the rarefied atmosphere of the Bank of England to the German-speaking streets of Whitechapel. And when he comes face to face with an old foe, he finds himself considering shocking compromises...
The new and highly organised Metropolitan Police are taking to the streets, calling into question the future of the magistrates' constables. Sam's junior constable, William Wilson, is keen, but what is an old campaigner like Sam to do when faced with the new force and its little black book of instructions?

Pickpick

Last of the Sam Plank mystery series. While it will enhance the book if you have read the previous stories in the series even as a stand alone novel it is a very enjoyable read. With serious crimes to solve there is still time for some romance and tragedy. Friendship in the family and also work colleagues is in abundance throughout. #Historicalfiction portrayed in a homely relaxing manor is what the author is good at and this story is five star.

Believing Heir Apparent was the last in the Sam Plank series I was really surprised when I received an email from Susan Grossey advising that the last book in the Plank Mystery series, Notes of Change, was now available. Even more surprising was the news that Susan is starting a brand new series of five books set during 1820's Cambridge featuring a University Constable. Something to look forward too.My copy of Notes of Change has been ordered.
