Pickpick

A Catholic priest, a small town sheriff, a young man haunted by visions and nightmares, obsessed with garbage, comforted by his therapist. Paranormal forces, multiverse jumping, conspiracy theories, traveling through the portal of the Black Barn. Urban / rural. Gothic horror / sci-fi. The one who smiles in the dark. Amazing artwork by Andrea Sorrentino. Moody mystery, but illustrations stronger than writing/character development. 2021

Pickpick

I read Jeff Lemire's graphic novel in the 6 volumes, not as individual issues. I am including graphics of the issues in my collage because for me one of the strengths of the series was the artwork by artist Andrea Sorrentino. Sorrentino used his artwork in ways that I have never seen in another gn before & I will always remember Gideon Falls for it. The story itself, by Jeff Lemire, is intriguing. A recluse is obsessed with uncovering a👇

vivastory conspiracy in the trash of Gideon Falls that will help uncover the truth of The Black Barn. The Black Barn is a mysterious building that appears throughout Gideon Falls history & often as an omen of disaster. While it may not be Lemire's strongest, it is certainly well worth checking out & half of the volumes were 5 star reads for me, with the other half being 4 star reads. I will most likely at one point buy the Omnibus for my personal library & 2y
vivastory do a reread of it. It would be worth owning, for the artwork IMO. 2y
