Pickpick

This was entertaining. And different than expected. The relationship between Darwin and Wallace played an even more minor role than I thought. 😁 I think the “confusion” in the beginning is intended, and it‘s cleverly done.
I was a bit more interested in Bromberg than in Wallace. I think I simply liked his “gang” a bit more. But I was surprised how frequently I forgot that he lives in the present and not in 1858. 🙈

Would like more by the author.

I‘m pretty sure I have read about the “Mercator”-projection in some YA-novel and back then already was surprised because I didn‘t know before. Then time went by and I forgot about it again. Now I met it again here in „Wallace“ and was again surprised. By its existence and by the wonderful method that librarian explained it.

I just took this out of a friend‘s WhatsApp-status.

I‘m in a positive mood today and wanted to share this (both, saying and mood) with you.

We all can use friendly words at the moment. 🤗

DrexEdit Thanks for sharing the kind thoughts and the lovely image! 😊 3y

I‘m surprised how far I already proceeded in there. Still feels as if I‘m right in the beginning. But I like it. It‘s told cleverly.

The 🇩🇪 „Elias-Birnstiel-Gesellschaft“ hooked me but I shouldn‘t have been too surprised that that guy is no fiction (🇩🇪 https://bit.ly/3feGFto).
I loved his 🇩🇪„Lubrikationen“ (🇩🇪 https://bit.ly/3lMg488, unfortunately both articles are not translated into English.)

#WoundrousWednesday @Eggs

1️⃣ Yepp. Even if they don‘t share my passion. My significant other carries all the books I chose whenever we‘re in a library/bookshop and I occasionally swap books with my in-laws. 😃

2️⃣ My in-laws, my mother-in-law and my significant other who begins to like audiobooks.

3️⃣ The Bible. And some classics but I need to admit that when I come to read them I am very often disappointed of how uninteresting I find them.

Eggs # 3 I agree about “classics”. Perhaps the reputation the book has had forever supersedes the actual value it has for the individual reader. I think at certain times in life you are more open to some stories/meanings than at other times. thanks for joining in 🌸🌼🌸 3y

“Spring 1858: The species collector Alfred Russel Wallace writes a letter on the origin of species to the naturalist Charles Darwin, who shortly after becomes famous.

150 years later, museum night watchman Albrecht Bromberg stumbles upon the fate of the forgotten Wallace. He follows in his footsteps and doubts that everything must remain as set as it is.”
