I have grown up with guns and hunting. I just took a handgun training course yesterday. I live in very rural South Dakota. I‘ve never been a member of the NRA. I wouldn‘t join it as it is right now from what I read in this book. I agree we need reform and a healthy discussion about violence in our country. I‘m just not sure an honest conversation can happen in our current time.
Chrissyreadit I appreciate your perspective. I‘m a very politically progressive person who is fine with guns in the home, my husband has guns, many of my friends have guns and we all agree responsible gun ownership is vital the same way car and home ownership is. We put safety locks on the cabinet to cleaning products and do not let our kids drive until they learn to drive safely. I‘m disgusted that this divide on guns no longer allows common sense discussion. 5y
SamAnne I grew up rural with guns and use to occasionally target practice in my 20s. We have them in our home but never use them. I‘m no fan of the NRA and how they have used guns to divide people. 5y
