Robie is an experienced traveler. She's taken the flight from Honolulu to the Midway Atoll, a group of Pacific islands where her parents live, many times. When she has to get to Midway in a hurry after a visit with her aunt in Hawaii, she gets on the next cargo flight at the last minute. She knows the pilot, but on this flight, there's a new co-pilot named Max. All systems are go until a storm hits during the flight. The only passenger, Robie doesn't panic until the engine suddenly cuts out and Max shouts at her to put on a life jacket. They are over miles of Pacific Ocean. She sees Max struggle with a raft. And then . . . she's in the water. Fighting for her life. Max pulls her onto the raft, and that's when the real terror begins. They have no water. Their only food is a bag of Skittles. There are sharks. There is an island. But there's no sign of help on the way.

Book 143📚 3.8⭐️

At only 230 pages, I devoured this book! It is to the point and fast paced!

Our MC Robie lives on the Hawaiian Islands. she is visiting her family when her aunt says she has to go away for the week. Instead of staying, she decides to catch the supply plane back home. But that plane never arrives, and she was never on the manifest.

TheLudicReader I loved this one…the “twist” was a good one. 9mo
BeeMagical @TheLudicReader Totally! But I did call it pretty early on😂 9mo

Cfischbuch Can you believe I haven‘t read this one yet. You better give me a quick sales pitch so that I‘ll add it to my summer stack. 5y

A little over 21 hours in and this last book I'm reading is taking me a long time to get through. It's really dragging and I feel I'm dragging with it. I should've been done with it by now....must finish it!! Must finish it!!

I enjoyed this. It was a fast page turner, and perfect to kick off the new year of reading. I'm a sucker for a lost at sea story. Bodeen's writing is easy to consume, and satisfying.

Jaimelire I like books like this too! (edited) 7y

Well, it finally happened. I accidentally bought two copies of the same book. I guess I was smug too soon on that issue. #bookwormproblems

Amazing! S. A. Bodeen, you have a gift for writing! I couldn't decide on how to pronounce Robie's name, but other than that one hiccup, I was living through Robie's ordeal with her.

This was a good read. Very clearly for younger readers, but hey, still good! This book actually spurred me into reading Lord of the Flies.
