It is a great usage of imagery and text to display text that could be read by a wide range of ages. “Soon it‘s time for Owly to go home. Wormy is sad…and Owly is, too.”
This is a cute story about friendship that many of my fourth graders would love. It is funny but includes important themes of friendship and animals which kids really like.

This novel is out an Owl named Owl who meets a worm med Wormy, and together they go on adventures and have lots of fun. The images include bold colors and whimsical lines that illustrate the fun nature of the story. The panels are organized neatly on each page and the story is easy to follow. Although not every panel has text, it is still easy to see what is happening from the details in the pictures.
“The birdies are singing to each other. Wormy tries to sing too.“
This book will greatly appeal to young readers who love animals and reading about them going on fun, silly adventures.
This is cute and short graphic novel that follows a kind-hearted owl, Owly, on his adventure to help a friend. The illustrations are beautifully drawn and it is a light storyline. It wonderfully displays themes of friendship and compassion!
This is a wonderful and cute story that is all about the power of being kind to others. There is a lot of irony in this story about an owl helping out a worm but it shows that just because someone may look scary they could have great intentions.
Adorable story. I loved the meaning behind it and the illustrations
The illustrations throughout this story really allowed me to stay engaged throughout
This book was enjoyable. It is about an owl who is always helping people, I feel like some student would be able to connect with this story. As well as takes you on the journey of him finding friends! I feel like younger students would really connect with this. I perfect way for students to get into reading more graphic novels.
The way Home by Andy Runton is a book that lets early readers let the pictures do the talking. This is good to allow students to use their imagination and creativity. The stories usually center around friendship, loyalty, and nature! (202)
The last two books of the Shadow Children series to read with my daughter and the cute Owly to read with my son. #LibraryHaul
