A very short, lyrical novel by an author who is Black, female, and Brazilian. I've never read anything like this. At places felt like Portrait of the Artist As A Young Man in style. Follows a young woman and her family as they move from rural Brazil to the city. Mental health themes and interesting intro to some Afro-Brazilian religious concepts.
