“Place a fan on the plants periodically to mimic the wind.”
Purchased a couple of supplies in preparation for planting tomato seeds.
Thanks Donna for this treasure. I‘m still learning from it.

ImperfectCJ Nichole! I've missed seeing you on Litsy! 1mo
Princess-Kingofkings @ImperfectCJ I‘ve been missing this group and I‘m excited to be back. Thanks for the welcome! 1mo

UwannaPublishme It‘s been awhile and I forgot all about this book. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So happy to see you here again, Nichole! Glad you‘re having fun in your garden. Are you still at the same address? Missed you! ❤️ 1mo
Princess-Kingofkings @UwannaPublishme It has been too long ~ yes, I‘m still in Michigan. Thanks 💗 1mo
Crazeedi Glad you're back! I have tomato and pepper seeds popping! 1mo
Princess-Kingofkings @Crazeedi oh, how I was hoping to “chat” with you again! I‘m late to the gardening party this year but plan to get my tomato seeds started tomorrow. My commitment to the garden is for tomatoes and loofah this year. Thankfully, my husband will take on the rest. 1mo

Pickpick

Full of helpful charts and information. All gardens are different, but the general guidelines are universal. Big take-aways: 1) Grow what you eat 2) Plan well and keep notes! 3) Enjoy the fruits of your labor! Excellent resource. Definitely recommend.

I've been quite off the Litsy radar. I'm finishing up Atlas Shrugged. It has been an excellent read albeit long. The above stack is my plan, in order top to bottom, for the next few months. Gardening has pretty much become a consuming desire for me. It's a skill I think we all should have especially in these turbulent, high inflation times. Happy reading y'all!!!

Bookwormjillk Agree! 13mo

5 quarts of tomato sauce ~ proof that preserving in small batches is still very satisfying 🍅

Texreader That‘s so awesome!! 4y

just a few of my beauties 🌻

SamAnne I always plant a lot of sunflowers too! 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @SamAnne I didn't plant as many this year. I tried a different variety instead. They never disappoint. 🌻 4y

These are my favorite seedlings. I took a huge helping of satisfaction when I grew Luffa for the first time last year. I'm looking forward to growing more this year!! 💜💚

Krystle13 I just had to Google what you were growing. Now I want to try... but I dont think they would grow proper here in Southern Ontario Canada.... So freaken cool though! Honestly never heard of this. 4y
TheAromaofBooks I grew them last year, too!! Totally planning to grow them again. So fun! 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @Krystle13 That is one reason I started them inside because I felt like they were still growing when fall arrived and I wanted to see if this year would be a bit better. I live in Southwest Michigan. 4y

Princess-Kingofkings @TheAromaofBooks They were fun. I enjoy telling people about them. I took my box of Luffa to work after harvest for show and tell. 🤣 4y
TheAromaofBooks I was able to harvest some, but then that is when my grandpa took a turn for the worse so many of them didn't get picked. The chickens have free range in the garden for the winter, so I am anticipating the possibility of luffas everywhere! 😂 4y
Krystle13 So so you eat them or use them as a Luffa?!?!? 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @Krystle13 I use them like a wash cloth or bath sponge. They are amazing for exfoliating. I made homemade sugar scrub & crocheted washcloths for a handmade gift package. 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @TheAromaofBooks That will be a sweet surprise to find! 😆 4y
TheAromaofBooks My casual gardening methods frequently lead to volunteers haha I also like to mix flowers with my veggies & always have sunflowers & cosmos appear where they weren't specifically invited! 4y
Krystle13 That's is a great idea. I may attempt to grow some. If I can find seeda 4y

I'm excited to see these seedlings yet not ready to boast because cucumbers kick my gardening butt every year. I'm a tiny bit hopeful that this will be the year that I will eat my own cucumbers. 🤞🏻

Bookwormjillk I have cucumber issues too! Good luck 🍀 4y
TheAromaofBooks I usually do okay with cucumbers - carrots are my Waterloo! 4y
Crazeedi Mine went crazy last year, warm ground, plant seeds on hill of soil, keep ground moist, they like water. Seeds will sprout and vine around hill 4y

I've never started seeds inside before. With suggestions & toys from this book, guidance from my daughter for an affordable grow light, and help from my husband & sons, we recycled & planted seeds. Watermelon. Cucumber, Acorn Squash, & 2 types of peppers 🥒🍉🌶

SW-T Nice! Sounds like your plants are off to a great start. Hope you enjoy a bountiful harvest later in the season! 4y

Our annual delivery from Carpenter Gravel and my new book arrived today. 🌾👩🏼‍🌾

ImperfectCJ Planting a garden is hope in action! I waited too long to go to the nursery for starts, so I'm waiting for my seeds to arrive. Then we'll see if I can do any better starting from seed than I normally do. 🤞 4y

I used my full credit to order the tagged book with no guilt. 📚I'm looking forward to planning my garden a bit differently this year. 🍆🥔🥕🥦🌽🥒🍅#KeepLitsyPositive

Deifio Cool! What are your main goals/plants? 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @Deifio Today, I've added peppers, onions, cucumbers, and salad greens to my wish list as these are what we use a lot of right now. I enjoy canning and was impressed that this book recommends the best method of preservation. I do not have a green thumb but my husband does. I love to weed though, lol. 4y
Deifio I'm kind of good with outside plants, but house plants mostly die. It's weird. Anyway good luck with growing your plants, the selection is great! ❤️ 4y
