Mehso-so

This is a light read, yes, but it wasn‘t satisfying. I liked that the author tried to deal with serious topics that aren‘t usually found in that kind of book. But you know, in the end all was too neat for me, too “and they live happily ever after” because as reader you were introduced to the problems largely and then the complex conflicts were solved in a way that everybody is satisfied within a half sentence. This is giving away potential. Sad.

Accidentally almost through with this one because of finishing chores. One last hour to go and I still can‘t decide what to think about the story.

Not boring, no, but also not as entertaining and resonating as it in my opinion could be. The plot tries to implement some important issues that are seldom met in light entertainment books but it fails to deal with those issues trustworthily. It‘s too much stuck in genre limitations, I think. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Chick-lit at its best I‘d say:

“On the outside, the sisters Heike and Nele get along very well. For years, they have been writing women‘s novels together under a pseudonym.
But appearances are deceptive: the truth is, the sisters can‘t stand each other and avoid contact. Until a disaster throws them out of their daily lives and nothing is as it was before …”

It‘s okay so far. Light. Entertaining. Doesn‘t hurt.

Next audiobook. I‘d rather be reading (not kidding) but audiobooks fit better to the long, opulent Saturday breakfast I‘m just planning to have.
