The Flaming Arrow by George Bruce was fantastic. These short stories have no characterization or much setting description, but action is the focus. This story is about a WWI pilot who is given a suicidal mission because he is the only flying ace who will fight to the bitter end. He becomes a kamikaze and destroys a German factory by loading his plane down with gunpowder. I can see what made people in the 30s buy the aviation pulp.

Some of this pulp fiction is gruesome. Not to my taste at all. I never saw the movie. Is it related to these stories?

Brings back memories of my parents watching Tarzan on Sunday afternoons. And, they never failed to discuss all the actors who played Tarzan. Bored us children to tears. Now, I wonder if they read the stories too.

TK421 I totally remember watching Tarzan movies with my dad on Sunday afternoons! 5y

This is not anything I would choose for myself, but I'm really looking forward to it. What short story did my grandparents read. This is why I like my reading challenges. #PopSugar2019 - title with "pop." The rest of the title is 50 years of American Pop Culture.
