This series never hit as big as I thought it would. All have excellent covers. I always wondered if it was because it wasn't an “issue“ book. The main character is gay. That's it get over it. No explanation needed.
The author even wrote an article where he states he is flat out tired of LGBTQ books being “issue“ books. It's real life get over it (I love his stance.)

ravenlee We need more books that feature characters who are LGBTQ/ethnic/differently abled/whatever and it‘s just part of who they are, not the point of the book. Why is that so hard? 5y
LibrarianRyan @ravenlee I compliantly agree! Unfortunately there are some communities who want books like this labeled or put in special sections, or they have special committees to chose the LGBTQ books that are allowed to be in library collections. It really sucks! 5y
