Hap and Leonard
Hap and Leonard | Joe R. Lansdale
2 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
Soon to be a Spring 2016 SundanceTV series starring Michael K. Williams (The Wire), James Purefoy (Rome), and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men). Hap and Leonard have never fit the profile. Hap Collins looks like a good ’ol boy, but his liberal politics don’t match. After a number of failed careers, Hap has found his calling: kicking ass. Vietnam veteran Leonard Pine is even more complicated: black, conservative, gay...and an occasional arsonist. With Leonard on the job, small-time crooks all on the way on up to the Dixie Mafia had best beextremely nervous. Joe R. Lansdale’s popular Texan crime-fighting duo are immortalized in this complete collection of Hap and Leonard short stories and tall tales. Additionally, you'll find one brand-new story and an original introduction byNew York Times bestselling author Michael Koryta (So Cold the River).

Pickpick

1. Single, never married.
2. Stu and Franny from The Stand
3. Angel and Louis from Connelly‘s Charlie Parker series. Technically a romance, more than a Bromance.
4. Hap and Leonard, probably also a bromance.
5. I‘ve never had many literary crushes. The first I remember is Laura Ingalls Wilder. I also find Georgia from Mira Grant‘s Newsflesh Series fascinating.

TheDaysGoBy Love The Stand and the relationship you picked. That book had some awesome characters and I‘d liked Stu and Franny from day one 6y

Ask people to name "funny" books and they'll throw out A Confederacy of Dunces or Paul Beatty's recent The Sellout. Then drag those same people out back and beat them senseless with almost any of Joe R Lansdale's Hap & Leonard books. In the end they'll thank you for it. Proper laugh out loud joy.

Tonton My dad recommended Hap and Leonard, so hilarious! 8y
GuiltyFeat @Tonton Your dad seems like a smart fellow. 8y
Tonton Yep! Started taking me on his weekly library trips on Saturday, two or three at a time, since Iwas six. Let me read anything I wanted. 8y
