My 3 5⭐️s for November were all from historical mystery series that I love. None are recent releases, and one (WTRS) is the final book.

This was a hard pick because they are all favorite series with engaging characters and storylines. But I‘m going to give the edge to COS for its intriguing change of location and fleshing out of some secondary characters.

Fourth in this series, the location switches to a small duchy in Germany where Crowther and Harriet are called to solve a murder for which her brother-in-law has been imprisoned. Daniel has no recollection of the crime and was considered insane from his babbling at the scene of the crime. Bodies begin stacking up, and our sleuths are faced with unearthing a power-hungry, elitist political cult bent on royal turnover. I enjoyed this. While true 🔻

robinb our leads did not have as much screen time together here as in past books, there were some added insights/spotlights turned on some secondary and new characters that brought additional interest for me. There‘s one more book in the series (I‘m assuming, as it was published in 2015), and I‘m anxious to see how Robertson wraps everything up. 4.5/5⭐️ 6mo
