Pickpick

A comprehensive account of the day that changed the world. So many stories of faith, inspiration and altruism, which show that in the face of evil, goodness shines through. I‘d have read this quicker, but I felt compelled to search more information about some of the people whose stories were outlined here. I strongly believe that survivors of horrific events like 9/11 and the Holocaust should be humanised. This book does this particularly well.

After two visits to the museum/memorial, countless documentaries and several other books, I thought I knew a lot about the events of 9/11. This book is proving me wrong. A truly comprehensive account of a day that changed the world forever, with some heartwarming but also heartbreaking stories. 5ish hours of reading left, so clearly I have a lot more to understand (if that‘s possible).

I love the story of ‘blood brothers‘ Brian and Stan. I‘m so happy it‘s told in detail in this book. An inspirational pair! I hope they‘re friends forever.
