TFW you finish the first novel you've ever read by a particular author, and immediately have to buy everything he's written so far. #americanlit #newfavorite #appalachia #5stars

Pickpick

This book is heartwarming, and tells a beautiful story of an Appalachian family. The characters are so real you feel like you've been invited into their lives. I cannot recommend this book (and anything by Silas House) enough.

This book, as most of Silas House's books, takes place in Kentucky. I think Ashley Judd would be a perfect narrator for a book set in her home state. #24in48

Pickpick

This is a great read for those looking for a true insight into Appalachia. House uses descriptive storytelling to tell the story of Clay and other residents in Free Creek.
