so-soMany, many years ago when I was first starting to read adult books, my mother steered me to Phyllis Whitney and Victoria Holt. I devoured them. I thought I'd read one again to see if they stand up over time. I did mostly enjoy it. It was published in 1990, but I felt it was written much earlier as there is a distinct lack of technology used - no cell phones or computers. When I noticed it, it kind of took me out of the story.
