I do not like Miranda's POV. She is an annoying child..teenager.. throwing tantrums. I don't like her brother Matt either. Coming home with a "wife". The kids all getting a relationship in this one was just to say love is in convenience in the circumstance. Matt really annoyed me by saying that Miranda should have gone with her dad. Matt wouldn't be alive if not for Miranda in book 1. The hard choice Miranda made at the end was Character changing

Pickpick

A year after the world collapsed, Miranda's father shows up with a wife, baby and three strangers, one being Alex from "The Dead & the gone". There is a whole new set of issues to worry about such as how to feed an extra six people in a world with no food.

I feel like this book is missing 50 pages between Miranda's hatred of Alex to she cannot live without him and will leave her family for love.

Decided to try for a photo challenge this month! I missed the first day...so here it is! This is the #firstnovel to come in from my amazon order this month. I love this series. I‘m a sucker for books written as diary entries. #decktheshelves

I did find this to be a satisfactory end to the series (there's a fourth book, but the Goodreads reviews have convinced me not to bother). I was pleased to return to Miranda and the worsening apocalyptic scenarios were satisfyingly dark. I especially liked the relationship between Miranda and Alex—I wasn't at all convinced by the romance, but I was convinced by these two teens clinging desperately to each other as their world dies.

Book three brings together the characters from books one and two. Really makes me wonder what would we do in their shoes. Another fast and enjoyable read that will make you think.
