Pickpick

This RF book is about a little girl walks in the rain in the open country. This book gives great sensory details when explaining the sounds of rain on the barn tops, roads, on her umbrella & finally down allows her to fall asleep peacefully. This is a sweet story that would be best RA in an early elementary classroom.

Summerm The UDL principles used with this book would be 2.1 (clarify vocabulary and symbols) & 3.1 (activate or supply background knowledge). EL strategies used for this book are: 4 (link lesson topic to students‘ prior knowledge) & 16 (integrate speaking, listening, reading, and writing strategies) #ucflae3414su19 5y
Summerm 2.1 (activate or supply background knowledge, can allow you to talk with your class about how rain feels, sounds, makes them feel.)

4 (this helps the class by being vocal and showing emotion in each setting. They could write about what they know and how they react to rain.
