I especially loved that the author provided three poems based on the specific topic. This helps the mind creatively thinking about the topic and makes it easier for when they do the “poemstart.”

Pickpick

This book is great for students that like poetry and would like some practice at writing their own. I think that they way the author laid out the book makes poetry seem like so much fun and actually pretty easy especially for beginning poets.

I almost adopted a bulldog over spring break so I loved reading a poem about bulldogs.

Pickpick

I really liked this poetry book. I loved that every page had a central theme and there was a "poemstart" which allowed the children to finish a poem. I absolutely loved this. My favorite page was the bulldog page because I almost adopted a bulldog over Spring Break. It would be fun to read a central theme of poems to my students and then have them finish their own poem.
