Went for a walk to get slices 🍕 & beer🍺 & got caught in a torrential downpour. I wasn‘t at all upset about it. My husband on the other hand... 🤷‍♀️😅

Unsurprisingly, the element I feel most connected with is water. ⛈🌊🔮 #seahag

If you need me, I‘ll be wringing out my dress in the sink.

julesG Downpour in summer can be nice. Great picture of the two of you. 6y

There are way more where these come from but I'm literally running out of the door for a quick road trip with my bestie!

Finished this on audio, quite quickly. Great summer read. Somewhat predictable storyline but I expected that and it didn't make the heartfelt moments cheesey. I appreciated the mythos of the water witches-would have liked more about them as individuals.

I'm trying. Struggling. Maybe the print book is better? The MC is making me want to throw things at her so far (At chapter 9...) #ShouldIStayOrShouldIGo

Found this book on sale and was immediately drawn in with the sailing life and water witch themes. It somewhat reminded me of The Scorpio Races, but definitely was its own story. I loved the mythic elements of the all female line of water witches and their curse tying them to the island. And presenting the different aspects of the curse through three generations was great.

So tired from a long day of work followed by hiking and then socializing. But I just have to see how this book ends!

So good! Magic and drama and the most intense island town in the Victorian era since reading The Lie Tree. Witches! Families. Romance. Themes exploring the choices we make and how we carry our pasts into our futures. Great writing, fantastic storytelling. Dynamic characters. Emotional and suspenseful. I loved it!

I was shocked to see that Goodreads has this book as a 3.5! I'm in love. This book took me on a ride. I am wrecked. My heart is sore.

OceanCityMama I'm excited to read this! 7y

This book was one of the most interesting books I've read lately. The main character, Avery, wants nothing more than to be the witch of her island. But after she has a dream that foretells her death, her dream of becoming the witch becomes harder to reach. The story was a wild ride from start to finish, and while I did find it enjoyable, I'm not sure I would say that I loved it. Though, I would recommend it if you want to try something different.

I liked this YA story about a water witch so much! Honestly, I felt it used magic in the right sort of way that I could get on board, yet still dealt with a lot of real teenager issues.

The ocean turns cold, dark, pressing around me, but the deeper I go the more the iron inside of me twists and pulls and I know that I‘m tethered to the boat, that even now the men pull the rope tighter and drag me back to the surface.
