Every Night Is Ladies' Night
Every Night Is Ladies' Night: Stories | Michael Jaime-Becerra
2 posts | 1 read
With a cast of characters so vivid they seem to leap from the page, this collection of linked short stories offers a portrait of individuals aching to find their place in an indifferent world. The characters who inhabit these stories -- teenagers, beauty queens, race car drivers, and even grandfathers -- fall in love, strive to make ends meet, or search for answers to their future while reconciling the past. Michael Jaime-Becerra casts a warm glow on each of them.

Pickpick

This collection was beautiful. Set in El Monte, CA, these interconnected stories center around several recurring characters. I loved Hector and Lencho and I might have been able to come around to liking Benny if he'd been in one more story. #storyaday2023

Ladies Night is a challenge to get me to read new female authors and I already have 2 down (as soon as I finish listening to the Jenny Lawson Memoir), so that‘s coming along nicely. The A-Z challenge will be exactly that—a challenge. I‘m counting the first letter of the first non-article word of the title OR the first letter in the author‘s name (first, middle or last). I can almost complete this challenge with just my tbr shelves.
