By purchasing Pork Bowl, Hachiken takes a step forward in reconciling a farmer's care and concern for livestock that will ultimately be eaten. But Pork Bowl has yielded a whole lot more than a pork bowl's worth-or even a dozen pork bowls' worth!-of meat, and all of Ezo Ag is more than happy to help with the surplus! Hachiken may raise a lot of tough questions, but he sure knows how to make a mean batch of bacon...

Today I returned every print book I had out from the library, then made up for it. As per usual, my haul is mostly comics with a side of poetry and one random nonfiction. I‘m super grateful to the librarians who found where those missing volumes of SILVER SPOON were hiding and got them back on the shelf!

xicanti @BookHoarder32 I‘m excited to read it! 5y

Of course I continued with this #manga series about students at an agricultural high school in Japan. It keeps asking good questions about the ethics of eating meat, the economics of raising food, and the struggle of continuing family businesses versus forging your own path. I‘m so glad #hubchallenge19 brought this series to my attention.

iread2much I totally want to read this series now. My family in Japan used to be farmers, but they sold off their land when my dad was a teen. I would love to know more ag in Japan. Thanks so much for posting! 5y
emtobiasz @iread2much it sounds like it would be great for you, then! I really enjoyed it, although volumes are still being translated into English. 5y
iread2much @emtobiasz that‘s good, cause otherwise I would spend way too much money at once 😂😂 manga is so pricey here :) thanks for sharing! 5y
