(July Review) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Underated YA Novel, Perfect for the young starting to get into Metal/Rock Music and Fantasy reading.
The book tells the story of the vocalist of a Metal band and his struggle with the overnight fame and the new stalker. Lots of great band names drops, mystery and dark forces. Get it for your kid or yourself 🤘☺️

How did I not hear about this book until now? It is Twilight Zone meets Stranger Things. Creepy characters abound and strange things are happening to Anders Thorson, the unusually gifted guitar player of the band Last Things. It dives in and isn‘t afraid to get weird, with plot twists and a satisfying conclusion. Seriously, how did I not hear about this freaky book until now?

This author is normally MG not YA. I wonder if this novel falls more in between , in what my last library called YT or Young Teen.

SaturnDoo Nope, pass. 😊 my library calls the MG books Tweens. 5y
LibrarianRyan @SaturnDoo that is pretty standard. We had J, YT, and YA. J was chapter books up to 4th grade ish. YT was 4th and up, YA was high school and up. It used to drive me nuts but which how much more mature YA has gotten I get it. We didn‘t censor but it helped parents know the difference. 5y

Anders is gifted. His band, Last Things, is legendary in their hometown. And Thea, a newcomer to the town, is one of his admirers. She turns up everywhere he goes: gigs at the coffeehouse, guitar lessons, even the woods near his home. When strange things start happening to Anders, blame falls on Thea. But is she trying to hurt him? Or save him? Can he trust a girl who doesn‘t seem to know the difference between dreams and reality?
