Such a cute crime fiction shop. We‘ve spent the day wandering the bookshops of Hay ( there are 27!). This was one of my favourites!

A look at the development & recognition of mental illness in the scope of the law in Victorian & Edwardian Britain. It was interesting to read a different narrative about early asylums, the horror stories tend to garner the attention, but here it seems there was a conscious effort by many to treat patients in a more compassionate way. Rating: 4 🌟
