Series review…
Loved Book 1 - couldn‘t get enough
Book 2 gave me nightmares - can‘t tell you the last time that happened
Book 3… I had a hard time getting through it.
And I think it‘s COVID-related 🤷🏻‍♀️
By Book 3, the world has lost so much - even if they succeed in ridding the world of vampires, they have lost so much that it‘s hard to root for it.
And in Year 2 of a pandemic, I feel echoes of that in life 🤷🏻‍♀️
Wish I‘d read this sooner.

kplovesbooks Agree on book 1 - definitely the best of the series!! It sucked me in so quick and wouldn't let go! 2 just felt redundant, like they kept repeating the same scenes over and over. And 3 just...idk, it was good, but I wasn't expecting the series to take the turn it did I guess. But I agree on the devastation part totally. 3y
Sweettartlaura @kplovesbooks I wish I‘d read it sooner, so as to feel like I could judge Bk 3 impartially. It could be that it just wasn‘t as good… or it could be almost 2 years of pandemic burnout driving my low opinion of it. 3y
kplovesbooks @Sweettartlaura It could definitely be the pandemic. I read it years ago, but I imagine it's a whole different thing reading it now. 3y

A little better than the second book, but it went from a biological tech thriller to one supernatural caused. It felt like a quick convenient origin story was made up.

PirateJenny That's pretty much how I felt too. 7y
speljamr @PirateJenny I was disappointed after the first book was such a great start. 7y
PirateJenny @speljamr I agree. Are you watching the show? 7y
speljamr @PirateJenny I am. So far I've enjoyed that. 7y

2017 #105 horror audio book three I could not wait for it to be over. I was not on the edge of my seat or filled with emotion. I just wanted to be done.

Omg, almost at the end of this giant.

(Book doesn't really have 3k + pages, it is this huge because of 4" screen and font size)

One thing I'd like for litsy and goodreads is the combination of both tbr lists. And yeah, the Strain is getting worse and worse and bland.

New #bookreview at www.theirregularreaderblog.wordpress.com! The conclusion of Guillermo Del Toro's The Strain trilogy! In all this book was much weaker than the first two, but I'm a completist
