A twisted figure crawling out of a tunnel. A giggling crowd of masked watchers. A reassembling corpse. What could be behind you, just waiting for you to turn around?

Pretty cool, pretty creepy. Definitely would have been better as an occasional entry on a blog. Less effective flipping through them all at once in a book. Still, a great concept well executed.

The concept of this webcomic was amazing -- brief, simple animations that were brilliant tiny horror stories. But, Coldrick then tried to adapt the animations into static images for traditional print media, and that was ...much less satisfying to me. The result was a two-page layout of text and illustration pairings, and this was an honestly terrible format for viewing on a digital mobile screen.

The print book would probably have read better.

esurient tldr -- This adaptation removed everything I loved about the original, and made it difficult to read to boot. I like giving money to artists, but I'm sad I paid for this. Disapointing. 4y

Linsy Love that creepy cover! 🖤 4y
esurient @Linsy The artist does really great things with strong contrasts! The light-to-shadow changes in some of the animations were mesmerizing to me. 4y

Reading horror in the dark because why not? 👻 This one is creepy illustrations with 1-2 sentence stories around the idea that something is always behind you. It‘s based on thehairsonthebackofyourneck.tumblr.com - which I recommend checking out (the illustrations are animated!)

I was just going to flip a few pages but I read the entire thing in a very short time. It‘s gorgeous, and chilling, and just perfect for revisiting over and over. I‘m very glad I bought it.

I hope I made the right choices for Halloween-ish books for two 14-year-olds. I loved “Behind You” when I read it a few months ago; I haven‘t had a chance to crack open my copy of “Everlost” yet.
